The Internal Audit Department plans and conducts operational, financial, and compliance audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls. Due diligence or special audits may be carried out when necessary. The Department determines compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations. It also makes recommendations to senior management to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of internal controls. Internal Audit assesses the risks of the Group, recommends the audit plan to the Audit Committee, and executes the audit plan.

The Internal Audit function has been established at Agbro to provide assurance to the management in relation to the company’s operations. The vision of this function is to be a professional and relevant internal audit function that performs timely and value-adding assurance and advisory services which provide and encourage innovation and continuous improvement throughout all operations of the business, and which are aligned with Agbro’s long term strategic plan.

The Human Resources Department is responsible for formulating and developing HR policies and procedures which are aligned with the objectives and core values of the Group. Besides managing staff, HR also works in close coordination with all departments within the Group to ensure the standardization of HR policies. The key HR functions include recruitment, selection and on-boarding, compensation, welfare and benefits, training, career development and performance management, succession planning, and exit management.

Marketing at Agbro is responsible for driving the development and implementation of brand and promotional strategies with the aim to position Agbro effectively within the marketplace and to attract and convert prospective customers. The Marketing team provide informed data to support and influence the development of product and pricing strategies, providing an in-depth understanding of the sector, competitors and the customer.

The Division drives and manages marketing channels including digital channels (eMarketing, social media), events, advertising, merchandise, and others to deliver on marketing activities. Marketing leads and manages the visual presence design, structure and messaging of all marketing channels.

With a strong focus on the customer, the Marketing Division works collaboratively with key marketing and other company functions to deliver integrated marketing campaigns.

Marketing is made up of three key areas, digital and communication services, brand, and market research.

The accounting and finance division is a critical support activity that enables us to track our progress in financial terms. The team has overall responsibility for the effective management of financial operations within the organization. The Department is responsible for monitoring overall financing and cash management activities to ensure the effective management of the cash flow strategy and plan of the Group. The Department handles the banking relationships of the Group, and reviews monthly internal and external reports for management decision making.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Accounting issues and standards advice, account reconciliation, financial compliance and internal control framework
  • Investment and treasury management

  • Accounts payables, accounts receivables, cashiering and fixed asset management
  • Oversight and management of Agbro’s financial systems

  • Production and analysis of management reports
